I got my ticket..do you have yours?

So having been given a scare by Jill's husband Joe that Twilight was already completely sold out for its opening week (I'm 99% sure he was just trying to mess with us) I wasn't taking any chances on missing it and having to wait longer than I had to. So I immediately got online and purchased 10 tickets for Sat Nov 22. I'm so dang excited for this movie and have been looking forward to a girls night out since I heard that the movie was being made!

I have 1 ticket left (possibly 2)for anyone who is interested! We're gonna go to dinner beforehand and then our movie is at 8pm at The District. Let me know soon seeing as I know I won't have it for long!

Since I bought the tickets online, I still need to go pick up the actual tickets that we can each hold in our hands and save forever (well as long as it's good right!) so I don't have a picture to post yet. But believe you me I will post one once I get them! I'm a little obsessed I know...ask Heidi she knows all about the crazy!

Never a Dull Moment...

I know, I know your own kids are never as funny to others as they are to you, but I still wanted to share some funny things that Tyler and Brooklyn have done this week :)

First off, how is it that all kids, even 11 month olds know what the best part of the Lucky Charms are? I gave a handful to Brooklyn yesterday and this is what I found after she was all done...

Not one marshmallow left! And the "other stuff" untouched

On Sunday while Blake and I were getting ready for church Brooklyn was playing quietly in the corner of our room. All of a sudden we started hearing the fan making funny noises and when we looked we saw Brooklyn doing this... lol

She thought the fan was great! She sat and played with it for like 5 minutes

So do you remember the "bag of crap" that Tyler got from the fishing pond at the Scarecrow Festival?? Well one of the items in the bag was a pirate's eye patch. I gave it to him to play with and told him that now he could be a pirate. I don't think he quite got it...

He thought this was so funny, he makes me laugh!

I love being a Mom because honestly my kids are my best form of entertainment!

Everyone needs a Spencer!

While Spencer was gone visiting his Dad this weekend I realized just how much the little guy brightens my day each day. I miss him like crazy when he's gone and just wanted to share 2 stories about him that make me laugh everytime I think about them.

A Little Bribing Can't Hurt

A Few weeks ago Spencer came home from school talking about how all the kids in his class had liked the candy that he had brought them and that he would hopefully now get to sit on the stage with the principal at lunchtime . I hadn't given him any candy to bring to his classmates and had no idea what the lunchtime thing meant, so I was really confused and thought he meant that he wanted to bring candy in the next day. As most of you know, Spencer has an auditory processing disorder and as such takes longer than most to relay his thoughts in a conversation. After much prodding and going back and forth, this is what I found out.

Early in that week his teacher had told the class about the " Lunch with the Principal " program. Which if i understand it right is actually a reward rather than a punishment ( I don't know about you but having to eat with the principal was never a good thing when I was growing up). Be that as it may, I guess in order to eat with the principal you have to be nominated by your class and the way to be nominated is to do nice things and be a good example.
So Spencer got up the next morning a man on a mission. He scoured the pantry, found what he wanted to bring, counted out 20 some odd pieces and so nicely handed them out to all of his classmates once at school. This would have been fine if only he had asked me first and hadn't brought the hershey kisses that were in a jar at the back of the pantry from TWO Christmases ago!!!!!! (don't judge me, I forgot they were even back there!) Luckily they were the cherry cordial kind and are so packed full of preservatives that I'm sure they would last longer than I will, but I was still mortified. To add to my embarrassment Spencer had very thoughtfully brought one for his teacher as well. That's my boy! He swears up and down that they were good and that everyone liked them and that now he was gonna get to eat with the principal. I couldn't be mad at him because how sweet is that?! I did tell him though that next time he needed to ask me first so that I could give him good candy to bring. But just in case..I'd steer clear of any candy that Spencer tries to offer you! It just might be the candy that Blake and I had at our wedding, I'm sure there's some of that still lying around somewhere!

"Your Mama" Jokes.. apparently they never go out of style!

Spencer came home last week with big crocodile tears in his eyes. When I asked him what was wrong he cried "Mom, someone on the bus said you were fat!! *sob sob sob* and ugly too! *more tears*". I couldn't help but smile, but quickly tried to hide it and asked "Who was it?". He said he didn't know his name, it was just some mean boy on his bus. I told him that I'm sure the boy doesn't even know me and that he was just saying that to be mean. (or atleast I hoped so because otherwise I'm gonna get a complex) Out of curiosity I asked him what he said in return and he said "The same thing..I called his mom fat too!" Well, he may not be very original but atleast he'll stand up for his Mom!

Halloween Fun

Halloween Fun indeed! This weekend we hit just about any and every activity having to do with Halloween at Thanksgiving Point. It has me wondering just how much business they get from our neighborhood alone?

Moving on...

On Friday I took the kids to the Barnyard Boo along with some friends. It was a little overrated if you ask me, but the kids had a great time and that's all that matters right?! They had a plethera (I love that word haha) of activities including face painting, croquet, balloon animals, cookie decorating and more. As you can see we decided to do face painting first, at which Tyler decided he wanted a spider (I think he thought it would be more like spiderman, but he was thrilled all the same when he saw himself in the mirror afterwards).

I love this picture because Tyler's eyes are so sparkly!
A better view of the spider :)
Next we hit the wagon ride which is always a good time.

Megan and Tyler.. Don't you love how great these kids can pose for a picture.. *sigh*

After checking out the line for the pony rides and deciding to pass on that craziness we headed over to the balloon line. We ended up standing in line for a little over 30 min, just to have Tyler's balloon sword pop about 30 seconds after he got it. Fantastic! Luckily Heidi and Lynsey were still in line so we just sent him over to them and the nice clown made him another one free of charge. Now if we could just keep it from popping again that would be great! (It didn't pop, but we did end up losing it before the day was done... atleast he has a wonderful Daddy who just happens to possess that talent and can make him one whenever he wants)

Tyler didn't quite get how to hold the sword. I would try to have him hold it by the handle and he would just yell at me and turn it around this way! Oh well!
Megan and her pretty flower. It's bigger than she is!

Brooklyn waiting patiently in the shade while everyone else was having fun!
I don't think there is a better baby alive!

Tyler and Gavin having a sword fight. Gavin means business!

After stopping to get some Halloween tattoos and throw some footballs threw a big pumpkin target we headed over to the Cookie Decorating station. Now to be fair, I'm not sure that what was there counted as cookie decorating. Each child got a pumpkin shaped sugar cookie and a little dollop of white frosting on a popsicle stick... No sprinkles, no little candies, not even orange frosting! Good thing none of that really matters to them, because ultimately us moms would have ended up decorating the cookies and all they really wanted was to eat the cookies, but it did seem like a little more effort could have been made on their part. Am i right or am I right??

Brooklyn enjoying Tyler's "leftover" frosting. I'm a great mom aren't I! Giving my 11 mos old pure sugar to suck on.

Tyler enjoying his lame excuse for a "halloween" decorated cookie!

Us girls taking a much needed break from the 9 crazy kids we brought with us

The 9 crazy kids :) Is even one of them actually looking at the camera?

Finally after all that cookie fun a few of us (the ones who apparently lack the ability to tell our kids "no") decided to brave the pony ride line. Now the logical thing to do would have been to skip the pony ride since we can do that any time and come back another day. Well try telling a bunch of 2 yr olds that! Tyler, Gavin and Ava were dead set on riding those ponies! An HOUR and a HALF later we finally reached the front of the line. And wouldn't you know it, the second the pony started moving Tyler started screaming. Great! So now I was holding Brooklyn in one arm and keeping Tyler on the pony with the other. I literally thought my arm was going to fall off it was burning so badly! Tyler ended up loving the ride but wouldn't let me let go to save his life...or my arm :(

It was so cute, about half way through the line Brooklyn decided she wanted Jill to hold her. I tried to take her back after a few minutes because Brooklyn ain't no skinny minny and I was sure that Jill thought her arm was gonna fall off too, but Brooklyn didn't want me! Look how happy she is!

Here she is when she finally decided to come back to Mommy. Nice huh!

Brooklyn can't stop herself from smiling for too long though :)

Tyler loved the baby pony! The whole time he was riding he was laughing and saying "baby pony cute".

Now on to Halloween Fun Day 2! Saturday night Blake and I took the kids (sans Spencer as he was visiting his Dad all weekend) to the Scarecrow festival with our friends Joe, Jill and Gavin. There were all sorts of fun things to do, I'm sure it's no surprise though that we spent most of our time at the slides and the big blowup bounce houses. We had a great time watching the boys (Blake and Joe included) go down the giant blowup slides. Tyler and Gavin were having a hard time climbing the stairs to the top so the Dads stepped up and climbed up there with them.
As a side note, I think we need to work with Tyler on pushing through even if he gets a little stuck. There were a few of the slides that he had to manuever himself through a series of obstacles and without fail he would go in, be gone for a minute or two and then reappear at the start. *sigh* Oh well, atleast we didn't have to go in after him!
This pic is kinda cool, it looks like Tyler is surfing down the slide, but nope! Seconds later he was tumbling the rest of the way down. He didn't cry though, he's so tough!
Tyler and Daddy on the Castle Slide

Tyler jumping away in the Nascar bounce house

Brooklyn happy as can be in her stroller... come to think of it she spends alot of time in her stroller..

Blake having just as much fun as Gavin on the other side (interestingly enough I think this is when Joe shoved Gavin down the slide "Christmas Story" style haha)

Too bad Spencer wasn't there or this could count as our one and only family picture. Hmm...who do I know who could take us a real and much needed family picture...
After the boys were all slided out we walked through the Jr Haunted House which was fun, although I don't know that Tyler really knew what was going on. He wasn't scared atleast so that's good!
Next we stopped at the Finding Nemo fishing pond (which Tyler spotted right away and would not stop talking about... they definitely used Nemo as a selling point!) We paid a dollar and Tyler got to hold the fishing pole while they attached a sandwich bag full of little Halloween toys to the hook end. Blake called it a "bag of crap" but Tyler was happy so that's all that matters!
After dinner we let the boys play some of the carnival games. There were no prizes but they had a great time anyway!

Tyler trying to put one of the rings around his head like the dinosaurs and chickens

The boys playing with the frisbee that Gavin won at the fishing pond

Blake couldn't get enough of the slides so we went back for more

Brooklyn still in her stroller...seriously I feel bad that she is always in her stroller! Not that she complains! Atleast she's all bundled up right?

Tyler's signature grumpy face

All in all we had a great time! The boys got to jump their little hearts out and were all tuckered out by the time we got home. I love this time of year because of all the fun events and the time we get to spend with friends and family! I can't wait til next year.. maybe I'll even give the slides a try! Ha won't those make some great pictures!

Husband Tag...it just might be the best kind!

K so I'm not as fast as Jennica and its taken me a couple days to get this posted, but here ya go...

1. Where did you meet? Blake and I met in the Singles Ward in Denver, CO. LAME I know! Maybe it will sound a little better to know that it was actually at a party that we very first met. If you ask Blake he will tell you that I hinted for him to ask me out because I asked if he had seen Napolean Dynamite yet and when he said no I suggested we get a group together to go. I really just wanted to see the movie, but it turned out to be much more... the beginning of the end (of our dating lives that is!)

2. How long did you date before you were married? Hmmm... I dunno if I want to admit this... Blake and I only dated 2 and a half months before he asked me to marry him and then only waited 2 more months to get married. I guess by LDS standards that really is pretty normal, but at the time we got a lot of grief from our non-mormon friends about it. Ah well, when you know you know and I stand by that!

3.How long have you been married? We've had 3 yrs and 8 mos of nothing but pure marital bliss. Hahahahahaha!!! The 3 yrs and 8 mos part is true but is there such a thing as "pure marital bliss"??? All I can say is we've laughed, we've cried and we've grown a ton! I wouldn't change a thing! I love you honey!

4. What does he do that surprises you? It's hard to pinpoint just one thing because Blake tries really hard to do nice things for me almost on a daily basis. One thing that stands out in my mind is that Blake is a great help around the house. For the most part I really don't have to even ask him to help me and he does it. There are those times though that I ask him to help and he gripes a little so I think that I'm gonna have to do it but when I go to do whatever it is it's already done, that's always such a pleasant and happy surprise for me!

5.What is your favorite feature of his? I absolutely love his eyes and hands! His eyes are the prettiest shade of green, I could just stare into them all day long. And his hands are just plain and simply man hands. I don't really know how to explain them more than that, either you get it or you don't :)

6.What is your favorite quality of his?
Blake is super supportive of me doing whatever makes me happy. Whether that is going out on a girls night or dying my hair JET BLACK haha. If ever I have plans to go do something he always is laid back and cool about it. He never gives me grief whereas I always give him grief. Sorry honey, I'm workin on it!

7. Does he have a nickname for you?
Blake calls me "Mere" (mair) almost always. I had a friend at the time that we were dating who started calling me that and it just has stuck I guess. I'm not sure if that counts as a nickname so as you can probably tell we call each other Honey a lot. Babe/Baby too.

8. What is his favorite color?
K so I feel like a horrible wife but I don't really know. Like Jennica said it's not something that really matters after elementary school so I don't know that I've ever actually noted a preference. I do know this, his favorite eye color is Brown... which is actually probably one of the main reasons I snagged him. You'll have to ask him to tell you the story! (which I will inevitabley end up retelling because recalling facts is not one of Blake's great qualities!)

9.What is his favorite food? I'm not sure if this counts as food but he definitely treats it like it is. Blakes LOVES Coke...well any kind of sugary carbonated drink really. I think if the calories were enough to sustain him and stay full he would live on Coke alone.

10.What is his favorite sport? He's not super into playing sports (I think he had a bad experience when he was a kid which included a swift kick and his cupless you-know-whats). So playing sports is out, but he likes to to watch most things, mostly Football.

11. When and Where was your first kiss? Neither one of us is really known for our patience or self-control. So in holding true to our impatient manner our first kiss was on my couch at the end of our first date... I guess it was good that it was at the end instead of the beginning atleast right!!

12. What do you like to do together?
Blake and I have a great time together and as such do pretty much anything and everything together. I have to admit that I'm a big TV watcher which I totally converted him into as well. So at night after the kids are asleep we will watch our favorite shows like The Office, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and any and every kind of reality show. There's something great about snuggling on the couch and laughing at your favorite funny shows together. As a side note I can tell you what we don't like to do together! Grocery
Shopping!!! He can walk into the store and be in and out in 30 min flat. Which I found out later is because he just grabs whatever he sees first that somewhat resembles what I had written on the shopping list. No matter what brand, price, size or actual flavor I requested, he just grabs it and goes. I on the other hand do not take 30 min. So it absolutely drives him crazy to go with me and watch me analyze every little thing i put in the cart. He doesn't understand what the holdup is... MEN!! He stays home now when it's time to go grocery shopping which is perfectly fine with me!

13. Do you have any children? Um.. have you seen the inside of my house lately?!? Yes we have children! Despite the mess, we love them to no end. Our oldest is Spencer who is actually mine from a previous marriage. Though if he didn't look absolutely nothing like Blake you would never know the difference. Blake has from day one treated Spencer as his own, which I'm sure you can see why he stole my heart in the first place. Spencer is a sweet sweet boy! He is loving and kind and sensitive and extremely compassionate. Next is Tyler who is definitely in his terrible twos! I love him to death which is why I can say that he drives me crazy more than half the time! With that said he really is a good little boy. He never puts up a fight at bed time and is just starting to say " I love you Mommy" which warms the deepest corners of my heart! Brooklyn is our youngest and she is our precious beautiful little princess. She makes me laugh almost on an hourly basis. She always has a smile on her face no matter what is going on. If you ask Blake who his favorite child is, he will hands down without shame say Brooklyn. He loves his daughter more than anything and knows his boys wouldn't be offended if they knew it. Wouldn't life be easier if us girls could think like men do!

14. Does he have a hidden talent? Blake has many obscure talents. He can make balloon animals which is an absolute hit at any activity having to do with my nieces and nephews. He can play the accordian (or used to be able to anyway). He's not a great piano player but can pick out most songs without ever having taken piano lessons. And he probably doesn't want me to tell people this but he's an excellent bowler. Seriously, he does the leg sweeping thing when he bowls which to me was always a sign of someone who knew what they were doing. Or atleast didn't just go up and chuck the ball down the lane like I do.

15. How old is he? He's 25 (he's actually 6 mos younger than I am..which you better believe I remind him of often haha!)

16. Who said I love you first? Honestly I don't remember but I would bet my life that he said it first. He just loves me so much, why wouldn't he have!

17. What is his favorite type of music? Blake pretty much likes everything even COUNTRY! Simmer down, I like country too I just made it big and bold for dramatic effect because country seems to always be the one genre that ends up on peoples "except" list.

18. What do you admire most about him? Blake is just a good, good man! He helps me constantly and I can honestly say that he's my other half. If I'm not available to do something, people know that they can ask Blake to do it because he's always willing. I love that he's never worried what people think about him, whereas i am constantly worrying about that! He loves me for who I am and is always telling me how beautiful I am.. even when he comes home and I haven't showered and look disgusting he still says I'm beautiful! Which also means that he's an excellent liar! I consider myself extremely lucky to have found him!

19. Do you think he will read this? Yes, only because I'm gonna make him read it because I spent all day writing it and it's packed full of nice things about him! Love you honey!

I tag Jill, Heidi, Toby and Char :)
